Los Angeles, California – Feb 2023 – RoseBYANDER, the Deaf-owned jewelry and lifestyle brand founded by civil rights attorney and entrepreneur Alexis Ander Kashar, partnered with the Academy Museum Store to launch an exclusive LOVE SIGN™ collection celebrating American Sign Language, Deaf culture, and the universal message of connection.
The collaboration brought the iconic LOVE SIGN™ symbol to Academy Museum audiences through a curated capsule collection featuring fine jewelry, apparel, and accessories inspired by the American Sign Language phrase "I Love You." The collection included LOVE SIGN™ pendants and pins crafted in sterling silver and 14K yellow gold, as well as exclusive Academy Museum Store crewneck sweatshirts and hats designed in partnership with RoseBYANDER.
As part of the collaboration, RoseBYANDER developed a series of educational and social media initiatives designed to introduce audiences to American Sign Language and Deaf culture. Through original video content, Alexis Kashar shared the story behind the Academy Museum Store collaboration, taught audiences how to sign Oscars vocabulary in ASL tied to the Academy Awards, and unboxing a package of limited edition capsule collection.

Formed by combining the letters I, L, and Y into a single handshape, the LOVE SIGN™ represents the phrase "I Love You" and has become one of the most widely recognized expressions in American Sign Language. Through the collection, RoseBYANDER sought to transform that symbol into wearable pieces that celebrate love, friendship, family, community, and belonging.
Since its launch, the RoseBYANDER jewelry collection has been worn by numerous artists, actors, and advocates, including members of the Academy Award-winning film CODA. Marlee Matlin, Emilia Jones, and Troy Kotsur have all been seen wearing pieces from the collection. Most notably, Troy Kotsur wore the LOVE SIGN™ pin at the 94th Academy Awards, where he became the first Deaf male actor to win the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
Available through the Academy Museum Store, the collaboration represented a unique intersection of fashion, film, accessibility, and culture—bringing sign language-inspired design to one of the world's leading institutions dedicated to the art and history of moviemaking.
